Knowing when and what you have to file can save you a lot of headaches at tax time. To avoid paying penalties, mark your calendar with the following important tax deadlines between July 1 and September 30, 2018.
July 31, 2018 | 2nd Quarter Payroll Reports If you have employees and are required to file Form 941 Employer’s Quarterly Federal Tax Return as well as Forms DE9 and DE9C Quarterly Contribution Return and Report of Wages make sure to file these no later than July 31, 2018. |
Quarterly Sales and Use Tax File your Sales and Use Tax reports. |

August 15, 2018 | Social Security, Medicare and Income Tax If the monthly deposit rule applies to your business, deposit the tax payments for July 2018. |
September 17, 2018 | Social Security, Medicare and Income Tax If the monthly deposit rule applies to your business, deposit the tax payments for August 2018. |
S Corporations File a 2017 calendar year income tax return (Form 1120S) and pay any tax due. This due date applies only if you timely requested an automatic 6-month extension. |

Partnerships File a 2017 calendar year return (Form 1065). This due date applies only if you were given an additional 6-month extension. |

3rd Quarter 2018 Estimated Tax Payment If you are self-employed or have other third-quarter income that requires you to pay quarterly estimated taxes, make sure your third quarter payment is postmarked by September 17, 2018. |
